Using a modern and hilarious translation, The Newton Theatre Company performs Moliere’s brilliant satire of the medical profession. Staged in the tradition of a 17th century comedy, this family-friendly production combines humor with song and dance as the ultimate hypochondriac, Argan, plots to marry his daughter off to a young doctor, ensuring a lifetime of medical care. Not to fear – saucy maid, Toinette, is on to him, and zany antics ensue as the characters work in opposition to Argan’s desires.
Attached is a publicity photo for the Newton Theatre Company’s production of Moliere’s The Imaginary Invalid.
The two actors are Bob Stachel and Jackie Stachel.

The Hyde Community Center and the Newton Highlands Neighborhood Area Council were responsible for the Hyde Playground ice skating rink this winter and what a winter it was. Our first ice rink was built in 2010 and this year we had our best and longest skating season.
Both the Hyde and NHNAC provided funding for building the rink and maintaining the rink every night. Thank you to Paul Gilbert of Paul Gilbert and Daughters General Contractors who donated many many hours both in setting up the rink and taking down the rink.Thank you to Srdjan Nedeljkovic and family and they were pulling out our rink tarp and getting the rink ready. Thank you to the Newton Fire Department Engine 7 from Newton Upper Falls and they spent a couple of hours filling our rink with water.
This year we hired Mark Beshansky to shave, scrape an water the ice every night and once he started using our snow blower he had to move 100 inches of snow off the ice. Thank you to Mark who spent many a cold night making ice.
Looking forward to the winter of 2016 and next years ice rink, except for the snow!
