Newton Highlands Soup Social: a free community event. Hot gourmet soups and crusty breads will take the chill off, Saturday night February 6, from 6 pm to 7:30 p.m. at the Hyde Community Center, 90 Lincoln Street, Newton Highlands. Two community groups, the Hyde Community Center and the Newton Highlands Neighborhood Area Council, work together to plan this delectable evening of fresh soups and extras from local restaurants and grocers. Half the Hyde Gym will be full of tables, and kids can burn off some energy on the other side of the gym. While we will offer simple beverages, diners may prefer to bring their favorite beverage and bread, especially because our bread goes fast. For more information contact John Rice at firstname.lastname@example.org or 617-201-7088. Soup and food provided by Otake Sushi Bistro, Bread and Chocolate, Whole Foods, Lincoln 51, O’Haras, Newton House of Pizza, Walnut Market, Dunn-Gaherins’s, Anna’s Taqueria.
The Newton Highlands Community Development Corporation is a self-supporting, nonprofit organization that initiates, facilitates and sponsors activities designed to foster a vital sense of community in Newton Highlands. The Hyde Community Center serves as a catalyst for community-building--introducing Highlands residents to each other and giving people an opportunity to work together on programs and activities serving the diverse interests of members of the Newton Highlands neighborhood. The Center collaborates with other community-building organizations in the Highlands to offer activities that are located not only at the Center itself, but elsewhere, in Newton and beyond. The Center is more than a building--it is the Heart of the Highlands.
