Hyde Gym Rental Policies
Reserving the Gym: To confirm availability, email the Hyde Community Center at director@hydecenter.org or call 617-527-4933.
After confirming rental date and time, complete the rental forms and return them to the office with fee or deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The Details
Keys
It is the renter’s obligation to call before your rental date to arrange to pick up a key to the gym and storage areas.
Call to arrange key pick-up approximately two days in advance of your rental.
Return keys immediately after your rental is over.
Parking
Please park all vehicles on the street; driveway is reserved for resident handicap parking.
Accessibility
The Hyde Community Center is completely handicap accessible.
Shoes
Please use only clean rubber-soled shoes on the gym floor. During inclement weather, if your shoes have salt or sand on them, please change into a clean pair before stepping on the gym floor.
Safety
We recommend at least one chaperone for every 10 youths.
Check the floor thoroughly for wetness before using, and dry with towels or paper towels.
Locate two fire extinguishers, each in a wall cabinet built into the gym walls.
Closing
Renters are required to secure doors (push or pull to check), and to turn off gym and lobby lights.
The building entry doors are controlled by an automatic lock system and need not be locked after your event. However, each renter must lock the gym doors and storage room doors.
All lights, including lobby lights, need to be turned off by the last renter of the day. If in doubt, turn them off.
Late-night events must end on time. Our security person waits until the last event is concluded to check that the building is secure.
Please bag rubbish from your rental and remove it from the Hyde Community Center.
